Dzhuzupbekov began his international career by winning one of the bronze medals in the men's 216 lb (98 kg) event at the 2016 Asian Wrestling Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand. In 2017, he secured a silver medal in the men's 216 lb (98 kg) event at the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. Later that year, at the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, he earned another silver medal in the 216 lb (98 kg) event. Also in 2017, Dzhuzupbekov competed in the 216 lb (98 kg) event at the 2017 World Wrestling Championships in Paris, France, where he lost his initial match to Musa Evloev of Russia and subsequently lost in the repechage to Balázs Kiss of Hungary.
