1.1. Early life and background
Alexander Geynrikh was born on October 6, 1984, in Angren, Tashkent Region, which was then part of the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic in the Soviet Union. He is of German descent, with his surname "Geynrikh" deriving from the German name "Heinrich."
1.2. Playing position and style
Geynrikh primarily played as a forward, but he was also capable of playing as an attacking midfielder. Standing at 72 in (183 cm), he was known for his ability to hold up play in the attacking third, allowing his teammates to join the attack. His playing style was characterized by high technical skills, and he often served as a set-piece taker for both his clubs and the national team. He possessed a strong right foot.
2. Club Career
Geynrikh's professional club career spanned multiple leagues and countries, including Uzbekistan, Russia, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, and Kazakhstan.
2.1. Early career (Dustlik, Pakhtakor Tashkent, CSKA Moscow)
Geynrikh began his professional career in 2001 with Uzbek club FC Dustlik, where he made 12 appearances. In 2002, he moved to Pakhtakor Tashkent, where he quickly made an impact, scoring 9 goals in 23 matches. His strong performance at just 18 years old earned him the Uzbekistan Footballer of the Year award.
His success with Pakhtakor led to a transfer to Russian Premier League club CSKA Moscow in 2003. While at CSKA, he was part of the squad that won the Russian Premier League title. However, his playing time was limited, making only 2 appearances and scoring 1 goal during his tenure until 2005. In the first half of the 2005 season, he returned to Pakhtakor Tashkent on loan, contributing to another Uzbek League title and Uzbek Cup victory.
2.2. Russian and Korean leagues
In August 2005, Geynrikh joined Torpedo Moscow in the Russian Premier League. He played for Torpedo Moscow for two seasons, making 21 appearances.
On February 26, 2011, Pakhtakor Tashkent announced that Geynrikh had moved to the South Korean K League club Suwon Bluewings on a one-year loan deal. He made an immediate impact, scoring on his K-League debut in a 2-0 victory over FC Seoul on March 6, 2011. During his time with Suwon, he helped the team achieve a 4th-place finish in the 2011 K-League, reach the semi-finals of the Korean League Cup, and finish as runner-up in the 2011 Korean FA Cup. Despite these team achievements, his individual performance was considered modest, and his loan was terminated after one season.

Following his stint in South Korea, Geynrikh moved to the UAE Pro League club Emirates Club for the 2011-12 season, where he played in 6 matches and scored 2 goals.
On June 14, 2012, Aktobe of the Kazakhstan Premier League announced his signing, alongside his Uzbekistan national teammate Timur Kapadze. He played a key role in Aktobe's success, including a 3rd-place finish in the league in 2012, winning the league title in 2013, and securing the Kazakhstan Super Cup in 2014. His contract with Aktobe was terminated by mutual consent on June 11, 2014.
After leaving Aktobe, Geynrikh returned to Uzbekistan, joining Lokomotiv Tashkent in 2014. Over his 15-year international career, Geynrikh earned 98 caps and scored 31 goals, making him the second-highest goalscorer in the history of the Uzbekistan national team. His final international appearance was on September 5, 2017, in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Korea.
