1. Career
Josiel Alves de Oliveira's professional football career began in his home state of Acre, Brazil, before he embarked on international stints in Europe and Asia. His journey includes significant periods in Portuguese, Croatian, Moldovan, and Icelandic leagues, followed by his time in the K League Challenge in South Korea and the Thai League.
1.1. Early career in Brazil
Josiel began his footballing journey primarily within his native state of Acre. He rose to prominence during the 2011 Campeonato Acriano while playing for Atlético Clube Juventus. In that season, he was recognized as the best player, and he also shared the top scorer title, netting 11 goals alongside Nilton Goiano. After his first spell in Europe, he briefly returned to Brazil, once again playing for Atlético Clube Juventus.
1.2. First European spell
Josiel made his initial move to Europe in the summer of 2011, signing a three-year contract with the Portuguese club U.D. Leiria. However, his time with the club was not successful, and he experienced a falling-out, leading to the rescission of his contract. Following a brief return to Brazil, he re-entered the Portuguese football scene by signing with Moreirense F.C.. Despite this move, he featured for only 12 minutes in the first part of the season before his contract was terminated by mutual consent.
1.3. Return to Brazil (Interim period)
After his second brief spell in Portugal, Josiel returned to Brazil. He signed with Caldense, though his stay there was short-lived. Subsequently, in February 2013, he transferred to São José Esporte Clube.
1.4. Second European and other league spells
During the summer break after his time with São José, Josiel returned to Europe for a second time, signing with the Croatian Prva HNL side NK Istra 1961. He scored his first goal for the club on 24 August 2013, contributing to a 1-0 home victory against Hajduk Split. Following his period in Croatia, Josiel continued his professional career by playing in other international leagues, including those in Moldova and Iceland.
1.5. Asian career
In 2017, Josiel moved to Asia, joining FC Anyang in the K League Challenge in South Korea. His registration name in the K League was 'Josiel'. Later in his career, he moved to Thailand, playing for Krabi F.C. in the Thai League 2.
