2.2. Youth and University Career
Park Kwang-il began his youth football career at Kangjin Middle School before attending Boin High School (보인고등학교Boin GodeunghakgyoKorean). He later played for the Yonsei University football team.
He was first selected for the U-17 South Korea national team in 2006 and continued to play for various youth national teams until 2010. In 2009, he represented the U-20 South Korea national team, making 3 appearances. In 2012, he was selected for the U-23 South Korea national team, where he played 4 matches and scored 1 goal. The same year, he participated in the Denso Cup Soccer as part of the All-Korea University Selection. He was also called up to the U-21 South Korea national team for the AFC U-22 Asian Cup 2013 qualifiers, where he played a crucial role as a right-back in helping the team qualify.

He remained with Matsumoto Yamaga until 2015. In 2015, he was loaned to Mito HollyHock, where he made only 2 league appearances due to an injury. In 2016, he made a permanent transfer to Ehime FC. His contract with Ehime FC expired after the 2016 season.
3.2. India
In August 2014, while still with Matsumoto Yamaga FC, Park Kwang-il was loaned to FC Pune City in the Indian Super League. He played 8 matches for the club during his loan spell, which concluded in December 2014.
3.3. Malaysia
On June 12, 2017, Park Kwang-il moved to Malaysia to play for PKNS F.C. in the Liga Super. He made 8 appearances for the club.
3.4. South Korea
After his tenure in Malaysia, Park Kwang-il returned to South Korea. For the 2018 season, he joined Jeonnam Dragons in the K League 1, but the team was relegated to the K League 2 after finishing last in the league. In 2019, he transferred to Gyeongnam FC.
