2.1. Acting Career

Perea's acting journey began in 2000 with his debut as Hugo in the television series Al salir de clase, a role he continued from 2001 to 2002. His career significantly accelerated in 2003 when he secured the role of Marcos Serrano in the highly successful television sitcom Los Serrano. This character not only cemented his status as a national celebrity but also served as the inspiration for his initial musical projects.

After his departure from Los Serrano in 2006, Perea transitioned into film, taking on diverse roles. In 2006, he portrayed David in Los Mánagers, directed by Fernando Guillén Cuervo, and notably starred as El Garganta in El camino de los ingleses, a film directed by the acclaimed actor Antonio Banderas. Interestingly, Banderas cast Perea without prior knowledge of his immense fame in Spain stemming from his television roles. In 2007, Perea lent his voice to the animated film El Ratón Pérez, known as Perez, el ratoncito de tus sueños, and appeared as Teo in the Goya Awards-nominated film Las 13 rosas, directed by Emilio Martínez Lázaro. His filmography continued with a short role in Álex de la Iglesia's Balada triste de trompeta in 2010 and a part in Chrysalis in 2011, the debut film of director Paula Ortiz, where he shared the screen with Maribel Verdú and Roberto Alamo. The Korean film 라이프 베스트 언더 유어 시트_{Life Best Under Your Seat}^Korean also lists his participation in 2012.

On television, Perea made guest appearances in El comisario (2002, 2003) and Muchachada Nui (2007), and returned for guest roles as Marcos Serrano in Los Serrano in 2007 and 2008. He also appeared in Hospital central as Javi in 2007 and Dr. Enrique Trujillo in 2008. He was honored to participate in the revival of the classic TVE series Estudio 1, playing Camilo in 'La viuda de Valencia' alongside Aitana Sanchez-Gijon and Jorge Roelas. More recently, he featured in Luna, el misterio de Calenda (2012-2013) as Ignacio "Nacho" Castro, B&B (2014-2015) as Mario, and La sonata del silencio (2016) as Mauricio Canales.

Perea has also established a significant presence in theatre. In 2007, he began performing in plays such as 'Fedra', where he played Hipolito alongside notable figures of Spanish dramaturgy like Ana Belén (as Fedra), under the direction of José Carlos Plaza and with a script by Juan Mayorga. He reprised his role as Hipolito in 2009 and 2010. He also played Don Juan in 'Don Juan, el burlador de Sevilla', directed by Emilio Hernández, which premiered in Naples and was performed at the Classical Theater Festival of Almagro. More recently, he performed as Chris Keller in Arthur Miller's 'All My Sons', directed and adapted by Claudio Tolcachir, an Argentine director known for his immersive theatrical concepts. He has also taken on the role of Orestes in a new play by José Carlos Plaza, again collaborating with Ana Belén.

2.2. Music Career

Fran Perea's musical career commenced concurrently with his acting breakthrough. He sang "1 más 1 son 7", the opening theme for Los Serrano, which became a massive hit in 2003 and quickly established him as a successful singer. His debut album, La chica de la habitación de al lado, released in 2003, was deeply influenced by his role in Los Serrano and achieved remarkable commercial success, earning four Platinum and one Gold discs.

Following this success, Perea embarked on a Spanish tour in 2004, which led to the recording of his live hits album, Fran Perea, en concierto, released the same year. In 2005, he released his second studio album, Punto y Aparte, which continued the positive reception of its predecessor. His third album, Viejos conocidos, launched in 2010, marked a significant milestone as it was his first album entirely written and produced by himself, under his own label, Sinfonía en No Bemol. He toured Spain in May and July 2012 to support this album. Perea later released his fourth album, Vijaha la palabra, and subsequently undertook a tour in Serbia.
