Oleg Yelyshev's professional football journey spanned multiple leagues and clubs, showcasing his abilities across different footballing environments in Russia, South Korea, and Israel.
1.1. Early Career and Soviet/Russian Leagues
Yelyshev began his career in the Soviet Union, playing for clubs such as Baltika Kaliningrad and Fakel Voronezh in the Soviet First League. Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, he continued his career in the newly formed Russian Premier League. During this period, he played for prominent Russian clubs, including Dynamo Moscow, Tekstilshchik Kamyshin, and Lokomotiv Moscow.
1.2. K League (South Korea)
Oleg Yelyshev made a notable move to South Korea, joining Anyang LG Cheetahs, a club now known as FC Seoul, in the K League. He played for the team for three seasons, from 1997 to 1999. In the K League, his registered name was 올레그OlegKorean. He was acquired by Anyang LG Cheetahs in May 1997 specifically to replace Serhiy Skachenko, who had been transferred to Jeonnam Dragons in a cash deal.
1.3. Israeli Premier League
After his time in South Korea, Yelyshev continued his international career in Israel. He played for Hapoel Haifa in the Israeli Premier League, further adding to his diverse playing experience across different football cultures.
