Rangel was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico.
2. Playing career
Nayeli Rangel has had an extensive professional football career, featuring prominently for various club teams across different leagues and representing the Mexican national team at both youth and senior levels in major international tournaments.
2.1. Club
From 2010 to 2012, Rangel was affiliated with Tigres UANL. On 11 January 2013, she joined Sky Blue FC in the newly established National Women's Soccer League in the United States. Later, in December 2016, she moved to Sporting de Huelva in the Spanish first division, Primera División. In July 2017, she returned to her hometown club, Tigres UANL, to play in the newly formed Liga MX Femenil.
2.2. International
Rangel represented Mexico at the youth level, playing for the Mexico women's U-20 national team. She participated in three FIFA U-20 Women's World Cups: the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, 2010 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, and 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
For the senior national team, Rangel was part of Mexico's squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup and played three matches in the tournament. She later served as the captain of the team at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, where she also played three matches.
