Moyuka Uchijima (内島 萌夏Uchijima MoyukaJapanese, born August 11, 2001) is a Japanese professional tennis player. She has achieved a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 54, which she reached on February 24, 2025, and a doubles ranking of No. 101, achieved on June 12, 2023. Throughout her career, Uchijima has won 13 singles titles and 11 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit, in addition to securing her first WTA Tour doubles title. She is currently ranked as the Japanese No. 2 female singles player.

2.1. Birth and Family
Moyuka Uchijima was born on August 11, 2001, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her mother is Malaysian and her father is Japanese. She was born in Malaysia because her father was assigned there for work. After her birth, her family returned to Japan, and she is recorded as being from Fukuroi City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. She is affectionately known by her nickname, もゆちゃんMoyuchanJapanese.
2.2. Junior and Amateur Career
Uchijima began playing tennis after returning to Japan. She graduated from Kodaira Municipal Kodaira Sixth Elementary School and, while attending Kodaira Municipal Kodaira Second Junior High School in 2016, she won both the singles and doubles titles at the All Japan Junior High School Tennis Championships.
She later enrolled in Hitotsubashi High School, a correspondence school. In 2017, she won the U18 division of the All Japan Junior Tennis Championships. She competed in the 2018 Australian Open Junior Girls' Singles, where she was defeated in the second round. In April 2018, at the age of 16, she was selected as a support member for the Japanese Billie Jean King Cup team. That May, she received a wildcard entry to the Kangaroo Cup International Women's Open Tennis on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour. She advanced to the final by defeating players such as Eri Hozumi, Kyoka Okamura, Momoko Kobori, and Abbie Myers, ultimately finishing as runner-up after losing to Kurumi Nara.
At the 2018 US Open Junior Girls' Singles, she reached the round of 16 but was defeated by Camila Osorio. In the 2019 Australian Open Junior Girls' Singles, she lost in the second round to Leylah Fernandez.
3. Professional Career
Moyuka Uchijima officially turned professional in 2019, embarking on a career marked by steady progress, significant ITF titles, and a breakthrough onto the WTA Tour, culminating in her highest singles ranking and her first WTA doubles title by 2024.
3.1. Professional Debut and Early Years (2019-2022)
Uchijima turned professional in April 2019. She made her WTA Tour debut in September 2019 at the Japan Women's Open Tennis, partnering with Erina Hayashi in doubles as a wildcard entry. In October 2019, she secured her first ITF Women's World Tennis Tour title at the W15 Hua Hin tournament.
In August 2021, Uchijima won her second ITF title at the W15 Monastir tournament, followed by her third title at the same venue in September. In March 2022, she competed at the W60 Canberra tournament, where she was a runner-up in doubles with Yuki Naito and won her fourth singles title. In April 2022, she was selected for the Japanese Billie Jean King Cup team for the first time, making her debut against Fadona Titalyana Kusmawati of Indonesia. 6. Personal Life
Moyuka Uchijima was born to a Malaysian mother and a Japanese father in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, while her father was working there. Her family later moved to Japan, where she grew up and began her tennis career. She graduated from Hitotsubashi High School. Her height is 68 in (173 cm) and her weight is 143 lb (65 kg).
