Kim Keum-Hwa achieved considerable success at the Asian Games, securing a total of four medals across two editions of the event. At the 2006 Asian Games held in Doha, Qatar, she earned a silver medal in the team sabre event and a bronze medal in the individual sabre event. She replicated this performance at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, where she again won a silver medal in team sabre and a bronze medal in individual sabre.
2.2. Olympic Games
Kim Keum-Hwa represented South Korea at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She competed in the women's individual sabre event alongside her teammate Lee Shin-Mi. In the preliminary round of thirty-two, Kim Keum-Hwa faced Carole Vergne of France, whom she defeated with a score of 15-14, advancing to the Round of 16. However, in her next match, she was eliminated by China's Tan Xue, with a final score of 8-15.
