Damir Šovšić (born 5 February 1990) is a Bosnian-born Croatian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. Throughout his career, Šovšić has played for several clubs across different European and Asian leagues, including teams in Croatia's top division, South Korea's K League, Poland's Ekstraklasa, and the Serbian SuperLiga. He is currently affiliated with FK Radnik Surdulica.
2. Club career
Damir Šovšić's professional football career began in Croatia, leading him through successful stints in the K League and other European leagues, demonstrating his versatility as a midfielder.
2.1. Early career and Croatia
Šovšić began his professional career in 2008 when he signed with NK Zagreb from the Bosnian side FK Sarajevo. Despite being only 18 years old at the time, he immediately secured a professional contract and joined Zagreb's first team. He quickly established himself as a vital part of their midfield for several years. Following NK Zagreb's unexpected relegation from the Croatian First Football League in the 2012-13 season, he transferred to NK Lokomotiva. The transfer fee paid by Lokomotiva to keep him in the 1. HNL was approximately 500.00 K EUR. In August 2015, Šovšić moved from Lokomotiva to Dinamo Zagreb. He made his league debut for Dinamo Zagreb on 25 September 2015 against NK Osijek, entering the game as a substitute on his home field.

Šovšić notably played in the K League in South Korea, experiencing both the top-tier K League 1 and later the K League 2.
2.2.1. Suwon Samsung Bluewings
In February 2017, Šovšić joined South Korean club Suwon Samsung Bluewings after mutually terminating his contract with Dinamo Zagreb. Upon joining, he signed a one-year contract. During his time at Suwon Samsung Bluewings, Šovšić was assigned the jersey number 66. This number led fans to affectionately give him the nickname '육육이' (육육이Yuk-yuk-iKorean), which translates to 'sixty-six-y'.
2.2.2. Cheonan City FC
Šovšić made a return to the K League by joining K League 2 team Cheonan City FC on 25 January 2023. His registration name in the K League is 다미르DamirKorean. He is known for his strengths in creative forward passing.
2.3. Other leagues
Beyond his time in Croatia and South Korea, Šovšić has also played in other European football leagues, including Poland and Serbia. On 25 September 2020, he returned to Sandecja Nowy Sącz in Poland. His contract with the club was amicably terminated on 4 January 2023. Subsequently, Šovšić joined Serbian SuperLiga club Radnik Surdulica, where he currently plays as a midfielder.
