Tagami enrolled at Ryutsu Keizai University in 2012, continuing his football career at the collegiate level. In 2014, he underwent another position change, being reconverted to a center-back. 2. Club Career
Daichi Tagami's professional club career began with a special designated player registration before his official signing, followed by transfers to several prominent J.League clubs, where he significantly contributed to their success, including league championships and promotions.
2.1. Early Professional Stint (Special Designated Player)
Before officially joining a professional club, Daichi Tagami was registered as a Special Designated Player for Tochigi SC on August 20, 2015. This allowed him to gain early professional experience while still enrolled at Ryutsu Keizai University.
2.2. V-Varen Nagasaki
In 2016, Tagami officially joined J2 League club V-Varen Nagasaki. He made his J.League debut on March 20, 2016, in a match against Kyoto Sanga FC during the J2 League's fourth round. After accumulating 900 minutes of playing time, Tagami signed his first professional A contract with the club on September 6, 2016, a significant milestone for his career. His contract with V-Varen Nagasaki was subsequently extended for the 2017 season on December 16, 2016. Tagami's journey with Albirex Niigata began on January 4, 2020, when he joined the club on a one-year loan deal from Kashiwa Reysol. Following his successful loan period, he made a permanent transfer to Albirex Niigata on January 8, 2022. In the 2022 season, Tagami played a crucial role in Albirex Niigata's triumphant campaign, which saw them clinch the J2 League championship and earn promotion to the J1 League.
