Wang Yijin, whose birth name is Wang Yunxuan, was noted to have been overweight during her childhood and early teenage years. Her dream of becoming a singer began in kindergarten, where her family would organize small concerts for her at home, allowing her to showcase her talents with scarves and other props, performing for her parents and other adults as her audience. In the early 2000s, at the age of five, she gained public recognition as a co-host of the children's program "Sunshine Express Lane" (阳光快车道Chinese) on Shandong Satellite TV, alongside Da Bing and Da Tou (Liu Zichang). She also hosted various evening parties for the local satellite TV. During her childhood, under the stage name Xuanxuan, she performed "Legend of Chess Mountain" and played the child version of Cai Shaofen in "Fatal Heritage" before temporarily withdrawing from the entertainment industry to focus on her studies.

On July 4, 2020, she concluded the competition in third place, securing her debut as a member of BonBon Girls 303, a project girl group under Wajijiwa Entertainment with a two-year contract.

As a member of BonBon Girls 303, Wang Yijin participated in various group activities. On August 11, 2020, the group released their first EP, Hard Candy Law (硬糖定律Chinese). The group made several television appearances, including performing "Hard Candy Girl" and "Hard to Win" on CCTV's Khải hàng 2021-CCTV New Year Eve on December 31, 2020. On February 9, 2021, they participated in Shandong TV's Spring Festival 2021, where Wang Yijin performed "Hard to Win" with Fang Jinlong and Fang Songping, and also contributed to an interpretation of "Recalling Mountains and Rivers" with the Gu Feng Tai Yin Qin Club. The group officially disbanded on July 4, 2022, as their two-year contract concluded.

Following the disbandment of BonBon Girls 303 on July 4, 2022, Wang Yijin resumed her activities as a solo artist and actress. On July 6, 2022, she joined Taihe Music Group for her music endeavors. She continued to release new music, including her first original soundtrack song, "Midsummer Covenant" (盛夏之約Chinese), on September 25, 2022, and her first original song, "Can't Get Any Closer" (無法再靠近Chinese), which went online on November 10, 2022.
