Wang Yijin

2.1. Childhood and Early Activities

Wang Yijin, whose birth name is Wang Yunxuan, was noted to have been overweight during her childhood and early teenage years. Her dream of becoming a singer began in kindergarten, where her family would organize small concerts for her at home, allowing her to showcase her talents with scarves and other props, performing for her parents and other adults as her audience. In the early 2000s, at the age of five, she gained public recognition as a co-host of the children's program "Sunshine Express Lane" (阳光快车道^Chinese) on Shandong Satellite TV, alongside Da Bing and Da Tou (Liu Zichang). She also hosted various evening parties for the local satellite TV. During her childhood, under the stage name Xuanxuan, she performed "Legend of Chess Mountain" and played the child version of Cai Shaofen in "Fatal Heritage" before temporarily withdrawing from the entertainment industry to focus on her studies.

2.2. Education

Wang Yijin graduated from high school at Jinan Foreign Language School in Shandong. Her mother initially hoped she would pursue a career as a businesswoman or study law. However, as she prepared for university, she developed a strong interest in acting and decided to pursue a path in the performing arts. She graduated from college, majoring in Musical Drama Arts and Theater at the Central Academy of Drama. Additionally, she attended several courses at the Beijing Dance Academy, where she completed her thesis during her participation in Produce Camp 2020. In April 2016, she achieved a score of 84 in her professional university entrance exam, ranking 12th, and was accepted into the Musical Theatre (Dance) Department of the Beijing Dance Academy.

3.1. Pre-debut Activities

Prior to signing with Jaywalk Studio (also known as Jaywalk Newjoy or Jiaxing Xinyue Media) in 2018, Wang Yijin was active as a theater actress. On October 11, 2016, she released her solo debut single, "Feng Hua Yuan Meng" (风华媛梦^Chinese), which also served as the Chinese cheongsam meeting song. In February 2019, she participated in the CCTV-15 music program "Feng Hua National Music" (风华国乐^Chinese) where she performed "Feng Hua Yuan Meng". Her acting career officially began in 2019 with a supporting role as Liang Yunshu (梁云 Shu^Chinese) in the urban family drama A Little Reunion (also known as Growing Pain or Youth School), starring Zhang Jiayi, Yan Ni, and Zhao Jinmai. She also secured a supporting role as Miao Lu in the series Storm Eye, which stars Yang Mi and Vin Zhang.

3.2. Produce Camp 2020 Participation and Debut

In 2020, Wang Yijin gained significant attention by participating in Tencent Video's survival reality show Produce Camp 2020. For her initial vocal audition in the first episode, she sang "I Like You" by Kit Chan. She later performed "Muttering" by Stefanie Sun with fellow Jaywalk NewJoy trainees, known as A+ Students. In the Group Battle, she performed "Magical" under the LTG team with Zhao Yue. For the Position Evaluation, she delivered a performance of "The World Would Not Easily Collapse" under the LTG Vocal Group, alongside Curley Gao, where she ranked first in her group with 97 on-site votes. During the Concept Battle, she performed "Isolation" with Chen Zhuoxuan and had a special duet with guest senior Aarif Rahman. In the finals, she performed Lady Gaga's "Shallow" as her solo piece, sang "Daisies" by Katy Perry, and participated in the final group performance of "Phoenix" (火羽^Chinese). On July 4, 2020, she concluded the competition in third place, securing her debut as a member of BonBon Girls 303, a project girl group under Wajijiwa Entertainment with a two-year contract.

3.3. BonBon Girls 303 Activities

As a member of BonBon Girls 303, Wang Yijin participated in various group activities. On August 11, 2020, the group released their first EP, Hard Candy Law (硬糖定律^Chinese). They also released a second EP, Slay And Play (Cô Nàng Lợi Hại^vie), on April 27, 2021. The group made several television appearances, including performing "Hard Candy Girl" and "Hard to Win" on CCTV's Khải hàng 2021-CCTV New Year Eve on December 31, 2020. On February 9, 2021, they participated in Shandong TV's Spring Festival 2021, where Wang Yijin performed "Hard to Win" with Fang Jinlong and Fang Songping, and also contributed to an interpretation of "Recalling Mountains and Rivers" with the Gu Feng Tai Yin Qin Club. The group officially disbanded on July 4, 2022, as their two-year contract concluded.

3.4. Solo Career

Following the disbandment of BonBon Girls 303 on July 4, 2022, Wang Yijin resumed her activities as a solo artist and actress. On July 6, 2022, she joined Taihe Music Group for her music endeavors. Shortly after, on July 9, she released a reinterpreted cover single of "Like You". She continued to release new music, including her first original soundtrack song, "Midsummer Covenant" (盛夏之約^Chinese), on September 25, 2022, and her first original song, "Can't Get Any Closer" (無法再靠近^Chinese), which went online on November 10, 2022.
