Tamannaah Bhatia was born as Tamanna Santosh Bhatia on 21 December 1989 in Bombay, which is now known as Mumbai, in Maharashtra. Her parents are Santosh and Rajni Bhatia, and she has an elder brother named Anand Bhatia. Bhatia is of Sindhi Hindu heritage. She received her early education at Maneckji Cooper Education Trust School in Mumbai.
At the age of 13, Bhatia embarked on her acting journey. She dedicated a year to studying acting and actively participated in stage performances as a member of the Prithvi Theatre. Initially, she used her given name as her stage name. However, after gaining some initial experience in the film industry, she modified it to "Tamannaah" for numerological reasons. Over time, she also began incorporating her surname, officially adopting "Tamannaah Bhatia" as her professional stage name.

Further diversifying her portfolio, she ventured into authorship. In August 2021, she co-authored her first book, Back To The Roots, alongside Luke Coutinho, which was published by Penguin Random House India. This book reflects her interest in ancient Indian wellness practices.
Her business engagements continued to grow in September 2022 when she became an equity partner in Sugar Cosmetics, a significant step into the beauty and cosmetics industry. In 2023, she took on additional brand ambassador roles, representing IIFL Finance in January and VLCC in July. Her global reach expanded in October 2023, when she was named the inaugural Indian ambassador for Shiseido, the renowned Japanese beauty and cosmetics brand, marking a significant milestone in her endorsement career. In January 2024, she assumed the role of brand ambassador for Cellecor Gadgets Limited, endorsing its new line of earbuds and smartwatches. Later, in March 2024, she became the brand ambassador for Rasna, the popular soft drink concentrate.

5. Awards and Honours
Tamannaah Bhatia has received numerous awards and honors throughout her distinguished acting career. In 2010, she was conferred the Kalaimamani award by the Government of Tamil Nadu, recognizing her significant achievements in the fields of art and literature.
She has been honored with the Santosham Best Actress Award on two occasions: first for her performance in 100% Love, and a second time for her role in F2: Fun and Frustration. Her work in Tadakha earned her the SIIMA Critics Award for Best Actress - Telugu.
