Serhiy Oleksandrovych Sydorchuk (Сергій Олександрович СидорчукSerhiy Oleksandrovych SydorchukUkrainian; born 2 May 1991) is a Ukrainian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. He is currently with Belgian Pro League club Westerlo and is a member of the Ukraine national team. Sydorchuk began his youth career at FC Metalurh Zaporizhzhia, eventually making his professional debut with the club. He is best known for his extensive and successful tenure at FC Dynamo Kyiv, where he spent over a decade and accumulated numerous domestic titles, including multiple Ukrainian Premier League and Ukrainian Cup championships. He has also been a consistent and significant presence for the Ukraine national team since his debut in 2014, participating in key international qualifiers and tournaments.
2. Early life and youth career
Serhiy Oleksandrovych Sydorchuk was born on 2 May 1991, in Dzhankoi, Crimean ASSR, which was then part of the Ukrainian SSR. At the age of one, Sydorchuk and his parents relocated to Zaporizhzhia, the city where he would later begin his formative football journey. He developed his skills as a product of the Metalurh Zaporizhzhia academy, joining in 1998 and continuing there until 2000. Standing at 74 in (189 cm) tall, Sydorchuk's physical presence complemented his developing midfield abilities. During his youth career, he also represented various Ukrainian youth national teams, contributing to the country's developing football talent. He played for the Ukraine U-18 team from 2008 to 2009, making 7 appearances and scoring 1 goal. From 2009 to 2010, he continued his national youth team involvement with the Ukraine U-19 team, featuring in 11 matches and scoring 1 goal.
3. Professional club career
Serhiy Sydorchuk has had a notable professional club career, starting in Ukraine with FC Metalurh Zaporizhzhia before a long and successful tenure at FC Dynamo Kyiv, and most recently moving to Westerlo in Belgium.
3.1. FC Metalurh Zaporizhzhia
Sydorchuk commenced his senior professional career at FC Metalurh Zaporizhzhia, the club whose academy he had graduated from. He made his professional debut for the club on 23 August 2009, entering as a second-half substitute in a Ukrainian Premier League match against Metalurh Donetsk. During his time at Metalurh Zaporizhzhia, he also played for its reserve team, Metalurh-2 Zaporizhzhia, making 17 appearances. For the main squad, he played 63 matches in the league and scored 4 goals, also contributing 1 goal in 7 cup appearances before his departure.
3.2. FC Dynamo Kyiv
On 21 December 2012, Serhiy Sydorchuk signed a five-year contract with FC Dynamo Kyiv, one of Ukraine's most prominent clubs. His first goal for the club came on 11 August 2013, in a league match against FC Chornomorets Odesa. Sydorchuk made his debut in the UEFA Champions League on 29 September 2015, playing in the second group stage match away from home against Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv, a game which Dynamo Kyiv won 2-0. Throughout his extensive period at Dynamo Kyiv, Sydorchuk became a central figure, participating in numerous league and continental competitions. After a long and successful career in Ukraine, on 5 September 2023, Serhiy Sydorchuk moved to the Belgian Pro League to join Westerlo. He signed a three-year contract with the Belgian club. His jersey number at Westerlo is 6. As of the end of the 2023-2024 season, he has made 29 league appearances for Westerlo, scoring 1 goal.

As of 2024, he has earned 61 caps for Ukraine, scoring 3 goals.
