Nishimoto's aspiration to become a voice actress began in elementary school after watching the anime ミルモでポン!_{Mirumo de Pon!}^Japanese. She felt that becoming a voice actress would allow her to enter the world of anime, inspiring her to pursue the profession. She continued her education through middle and high school, where her musical talents further blossomed.

2.2. Musical Training

Nishimoto began her musical journey at a young age, starting with piano and Electone lessons at three years old. By the age of 14, she picked up the guitar. During her middle and high school years, she actively participated in band clubs, where she played the euphonium and saxophone, demonstrating her diverse instrumental abilities.

In April 2013, Nishimoto participated in the public audition for the "Milky Holmes Sisters Members Scout Audition Finals" for the Bushiroad franchise Tantei Opera Milky Holmes. Although she did not win the grand prize, which went to Ayasa Itō (who would later become her bandmate in Poppin'Party), her guitar performance left a strong impression on Bushiroad's representative, 木谷高明_{Takaaki Kidani}^Japanese. Around 2014, as Kidani was planning the BanG Dream! project, he recalled Nishimoto's performance and personally persuaded her and her family to join the project as a bassist. At the time, Nishimoto had less experience with the bass compared to her proficiency in guitar and piano, prompting her to take lessons to refine her form and string-pressing techniques.

On April 18, 2015, Nishimoto made her first live appearance as Rimi Ushigome_{Rimi Ushigome}^Japanese at the BanG Dream! 1st Live "Haru, Band Hajimemashita!". Shortly thereafter, on April 21, 2015, her official affiliation with the HiBiKi agency was announced alongside Yuka Ozaki.

Nishimoto became a core member of the band Poppin'Party, alongside Aimi, Ayasa Itō, Sae Ōtsuka, and Ayaka Ōhashi. Within the BanG Dream! franchise, she not only performs as the bassist for Poppin'Party in live concerts but also voices the character Rimi Ushigome in the anime series and the mobile game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!. Certain aspects of Rimi Ushigome's character were inspired by Nishimoto's real-life personality. On June 21, 2017, her character song, "チョコレイトの低音レシピ_{Chocolate no Teion Recipe}^Japanese", was released as a single, reaching 20th on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart.

Among her favorite foods are chocolate, fresh cream, meat, and maple syrup, with Kit Kat being her absolute favorite type of chocolate. She also cherishes a しまじろう_Shimajirō^Japanese puppet, which she received on her first birthday. Her favorite artist is the Japanese duo コブクロ_Kobukuro^Japanese, and she makes an effort to attend their live concerts annually. She is known by the nicknames "Rimirin" and "Orimi-san" and has blood type A. Her height is 61 in ^{(154 cm)}.

On November 4, 2023, Rimi Nishimoto publicly announced that she has been diagnosed with バセドウ病_{Graves' disease}^Japanese. She revealed that she had previously developed the condition ten years prior, and after treatment, her symptoms had subsided, but it had since recurred. As a result, she disclosed that her activities would be adjusted to reduce excessive physical exertion, including changes to some event appearances and cancellations of stage play performances.
