Olga Govortsova was born on August 23, 1988, in Pinsk, which was then part of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic in the Soviet Union. She later resided in Minsk, Belarus. She stands at 6.0 ft (1.82 m) tall and weighs 148 lb (67 kg). Govortsova plays with her right hand and uses a two-handed backhand. She began playing tennis at the age of six.

2.1. Career highlights
Govortsova's career earnings amount to 3.66 M USD in prize money. She holds a singles win-loss record of 440-353 and a doubles record of 188-183. While she did not win any singles titles on the WTA Tour, she reached four singles finals. In doubles, she achieved significant success, capturing eight WTA Tour titles and one WTA 125 Series title. She also secured nine singles titles on the ITF Circuit. Her highest singles ranking was world No. 35, achieved on June 23, 2008, and her career-high doubles ranking was world No. 24, reached on August 29, 2011.

At the Australian Open, she reached the second round three times (in 2012, 2013, and 2014). In the French Open, she advanced to the third round twice (2008 and 2009).
