Natália Kelly

1.1. Early life and background

Natália Kelly was born on December 18, 1994, in Hartford, Connecticut, United States. Her father is an American businessman with Austrian and Irish ancestry, while her mother is Brazilian. In 2000, at the age of six, Kelly relocated from the United States to Austria, where she currently resides in Bad Vöslau, Lower Austria.

1.2. Early musical activities

Kelly began her musical journey at an early age. In 2004, when she was ten years old, she became a member of the children's opera, participating in the production of In 80 Tagen um die Welt (Around the World in 80 Days) at the Baden state theatre. Also in 2004, she achieved second place on the Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF) television show, Kiddy Contest, performing a duet with Manuel Gutleb. In the years that followed, Kelly continued to participate in various competitions, including Prima La Musica in the classical music category.

1.3. Gimme 5

Between 2005 and 2007, Natália Kelly was a member of a children's pop group called Gimme 5. The group was signed to Universal Music and was produced by Alexander Kahr.

1.4. The Voice

In 2011, Kelly won a long-running Austrian talent show titled The Voice. This show is distinct from the international The Voice franchise. Following her victory, she secured a recording contract from producer Alexander Kahr, who had previously worked with her in Gimme 5.

2.1. Representation of Austria

On February 15, 2013, Natália Kelly competed in the Austrian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, a show titled Österreich rockt den Song Contest. She performed her song "Shine". At the conclusion of the voting, Kelly received 32 points from the jury vote and 38 points from the televote, accumulating a total of 70 points. This score secured her first place, leading to her selection as Austria's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden.

Kelly competed in the first semi-final of the competition on May 14, 2013. However, Austria did not qualify for the final, as she placed 14th out of 16 participants, scoring 27 points.

Natália Kelly's self-titled debut album, Natália Kelly, was released worldwide on April 12, 2013.
