Luca Argentero

1.1. Childhood and Education

Born in Turin to Guido and Agata, Argentero grew up in neighboring Moncalieri. He completed his high school education at the Catholic "Collegio San Giuseppe". Before his breakthrough in entertainment, he worked as a bartender in a local nightclub. He continued his academic pursuits, earning a degree in Economy & Commerce in 2004.

1.2. Entry into Entertainment

Argentero rose to public attention in 2003 as a participant in the third season of the popular reality television series Grande Fratello (Big Brother). He was a finalist on the show, securing third place with 9% of the Italian public vote. Following this significant exposure, Argentero began making guest appearances on a variety of television shows and embarked on a career as a model, notably posing for a sensual calendar produced by the Italian monthly magazine Max.

1.3. Early Acting Roles

In 2005, Argentero made his debut as an actor in the television series Carabinieri, where he portrayed the character of Marco Tosi across the fourth, fifth, and sixth seasons. His cinematic career began in 2006 when he played the main character in the short film Il Quarto Sesso (The Fourth Sex). That same year, he made his feature film debut in A Casa Nostra (Our Country), directed by Francesca Comencini.

In 2007, he appeared in Saturn in Opposition, a film by Ferzan Özpetek, playing the role of a homosexual man. The same year, Argentero also featured in Lessons in Chocolate, a film directed by Claudio Cupellini. Additionally, he took on one of the two main characters in the miniseries La Baronessa di Carini. In 2008, Argentero starred as the protagonist in the film Solo un padre, directed by Luca Lucini, with production commencing in January 2008 in his hometown of Turin. In 2009, he once again portrayed a gay man in Different from Whom?, a role that earned him his first David di Donatello nomination for Best Actor.
