2.1. Childhood and Upbringing

Liboiron grew up in the small farming community of Jenner, Alberta, a rural area in Canada. He has two older brothers. His mother, an accomplished artist, was a significant influence and highly supportive of his early desire to act. She notably drove him to Vancouver for initial acting classes and auditions, demonstrating her commitment to his artistic aspirations.

2.2. Career Beginnings

After completing his high school education, Landon Liboiron made the decisive move to Vancouver to fully commit himself to an acting career. This relocation marked a pivotal step in his professional journey, allowing him to immerse himself in the entertainment industry and pursue roles on a full-time basis. Prior to achieving widespread recognition, he began his career by securing roles in various television films.

3.1. Acting Career

Liboiron's acting journey began with appearances in TV films before he secured his breakout role as Declan Coyne in the acclaimed Canadian teen drama television series Degrassi: The Next Generation, a role he held from 2009 to 2010 across 67 episodes. Following this, he appeared as Sam Bradshaw in five episodes of Life Unexpected from 2010 to 2011.

In 2011, he starred as Josh Shannon in the science fiction television series Terra Nova, where he portrayed the son of the lead characters, played by Jason O'Mara and Shelley Conn. That same year, he ventured into the horror genre with a role as Will Kidman in the film The Howling: Reborn, which was released direct-to-video. He also appeared in an episode of Shattered and The Haunting Hour: The Series.

A significant milestone in his career came in 2013 when Liboiron was cast in a lead role opposite Bill Skarsgård and Famke Janssen in the Netflix original series Hemlock Grove. In this supernatural thriller, he played Peter Rumancek, a high school student and Romani werewolf. He reprised this lead role for all three seasons of the series, which concluded in 2015, appearing in 33 episodes.

From 2016 to 2019, Liboiron starred as Michael Smyth in the western drama series Frontier, a lead role spanning 18 episodes. In 2017, he joined the cast of the Blumhouse supernatural thriller film Truth or Dare, portraying the dual role of Carter and Sam Meehan, which was released in 2018. His recent film work includes Come True (2020) where he played Jeremy, Hands That Bind (2021) as Dirk Longridge, and Door Mouse (2023) as Kelly.

3.2. Directing and Producing

Beyond his acting endeavors, Landon Liboiron has expanded his creative contributions to filmmaking, taking on roles as both a director and writer for short films. In 2020, he directed and wrote the short film titled Theo. Expanding on this experience, in 2022, Liboiron co-directed and co-wrote the gothic satire short film Soul of a Man alongside his Hemlock Grove co-star Bill Skarsgård. This film was notably based on Edgar Allan Poe's short story Bon-Bon and featured Bill Skarsgård's father, Stellan Skarsgård, and brother, Gustaf Skarsgård, in starring roles.
