2. Early career
Jin Taiyan began his football journey in 2001, joining the youth academy of Liaoning F.C., where he developed his skills until 2009. His initial step into professional football occurred in 2009 when he was loaned to Panjin Mengzun, a satellite team of Liaoning Whowin, for the duration of the 2009 league season. Following this period, Jin Taiyan's promising performances led to his promotion to Liaoning's first team in December 2009, marking his official entry into top-tier professional football.

3.1. Liaoning Whowin
Jin Taiyan spent seven seasons with Liaoning Whowin, from 2010 to 2016. He made his first mark by scoring his debut goal for the club on March 31, 2012, in a 1-1 away draw against Dalian Aerbin. During the 2013 Chinese Super League season, Jin Taiyan solidified his position within the first team, earning a predominantly starting role and becoming a crucial player for Liaoning. Throughout his tenure at Liaoning Whowin, he made 138 league appearances and scored 8 goals, establishing himself as a reliable and important midfielder for the club.
3.2. Beijing Guoan
On January 29, 2017, Jin Taiyan transferred to fellow Chinese Super League side Beijing Guoan. He made his competitive debut for Beijing Guoan on April 15, 2017, coming on as a substitute for Zhang Chiming in a 1-0 defeat against Shandong Luneng. Under head coach José González, Jin initially maintained a regular presence in the team. However, following a string of disappointing results, González was relieved of his duties.
The subsequent season, under new head coach Roger Schmidt, saw a significant change in Jin Taiyan's role.
