1. Professional Career
Hygor's professional journey began in Brazil, where he developed a reputation as a potent goalscorer in state and lower-division leagues before progressing to more prominent clubs, including an international stint.
1.1. Early Career in Brazil
Hygor began his professional career with Ferroviária in 2013, playing in the Paulista A2. During his initial years, he was frequently loaned to other Brazilian clubs, where he showcased significant goal-scoring prowess. In 2012, he had a loan spell at Ivinhema, making 9 appearances and scoring 2 goals in the Campeonato Sul-Mato-Grossense.
In 2013, while on loan at Barretos, he made 1 appearance in the Paulista A3. His time at Barretos was also marked by a prolific scoring record, with reports indicating he scored 34 goals and provided 16 assists in 49 appearances across various competitions. The following year, 2014, saw him on loan at Guariba, where he was the third highest scorer in the league, netting 11 goals and providing 6 assists in 17 matches in the Paulista 2ª Divisão.
His strong performances continued in 2015 when he was loaned to Noroeste. There, he was the top scorer in the state league, contributing 23 goals in 22 appearances in the Paulista 2ª Divisão. These consistent scoring records earned him recognition and led to an international transfer.
1.2. Loan to Suwon Samsung Bluewings
In 2016, Hygor moved to South Korea on a loan deal with Suwon Samsung Bluewings, a club competing in the K League 1. Upon his arrival, Hygor expressed ambitious goals, stating in an interview that he aimed to score 15 or more goals during the season and target the league's top scorer award.
However, his time in South Korea was significantly impacted by frequent injuries. Despite the high expectations, he made only 2 appearances in the K League 1, scoring 1 goal, and 1 appearance in the AFC Champions League. Due to his limited on-field performance and persistent injury issues, his loan contract with Suwon was terminated early on July 12, 2016, and he returned to his parent club, Ferroviária.
1.3. Subsequent Career in Brazil
Following his return from South Korea, Hygor continued his career in Brazil, largely with Ferroviária and various loan spells. In 2017, he was loaned to Penapolense, making 9 appearances in the Paulista A2. He also played for Ferroviária that year, scoring 12 goals in 23 appearances in the Copa Paulista.
In 2018, he moved to Sport Recife on loan, playing 5 matches in Série A, and later in the same year, was loaned to Juventude, though he made no appearances in Série B. He returned to Ferroviária for the 2019 season, where he made 2 appearances in Série D and 1 in the Paulista. He was then loaned to Paysandu, where he played 6 matches and scored 2 goals in Série C, alongside 3 appearances and 1 goal in the Copa Verde.
In 2020, he had a significant season with Ferroviária, making 9 appearances and scoring 1 goal in Série D, and 12 appearances with 2 goals in the Paulista, along with 4 appearances and 1 goal in the Copa do Brasil, accumulating 25 appearances and 4 goals in total.
In 2021, he made 9 appearances and scored 1 goal for Ferroviária in the Paulista before being loaned to Criciúma, where he played 13 matches and scored 2 goals in Série C. His loan to Criciúma continued into 2022, a successful year where he made 31 appearances and scored 10 goals in Série B.
For the 2023 season, Hygor joined Ceará, playing 1 match in the Paulista and 0 matches in Série B. He subsequently moved to Avaí, his current club.
