1. Early life and background
Héverton was born on 28 October 1985 in Brasília, the capital city located within the Federal District of Brazil. He began his football career in 1999 with Guarani, where he developed his skills in his formative years before making his mark in professional football.
2. Club career
Héverton's professional football career saw him play for a variety of clubs across Brazil and for one club in South Korea. He moved between teams, making significant contributions as an attacking midfielder and accumulating notable achievements, including a successful period with Portuguesa and a memorable loan spell at Seongnam FC.
2.1. Early career and initial clubs
Héverton started his professional career in 1999 at Guarani, where he remained until 2004. In 2004, he moved to Europe, joining the Turkish club Ankaragücü. During his time in Turkey, he made seven league appearances and scored one goal. Following his stint with Ankaragücü, he returned to Brazil, where he signed with União Barbarense. His next move was to Ponte Preta. In 2007, Héverton joined Corinthians, one of Brazil's major clubs, where he played nine matches. The following year, in 2008, he signed with Vitória but made only two appearances before departing the club.
2.2. Portuguesa and first loan spells
After leaving Vitória, Héverton transferred to Portuguesa, a club where he would enjoy his most successful period to date. Over five years, he made 68 appearances and scored 24 goals, showcasing his impactful presence as an attacking midfielder. His most prolific season for Portuguesa was in 2010, when he scored 11 goals during the 2010 Campeonato Paulista campaign. He carried this strong form into the subsequent Série B season, where he netted 12 goals in 32 matches. The 2011 season also began positively for Héverton, as he scored three goals in six Campeonato Paulista games. This period was followed by a loan move to Atlético Paranaense, where he scored once in five Paulista matches before returning to Portuguesa.
2.3. Seongnam FC loan
Shortly after his return to Portuguesa, Héverton was loaned out again, this time to the Korean club Seongnam FC until June 2012. His K League registration name in South Korea was 에벨찡요EvelzinhoKorean. He made his K League Classic debut on 16 July 2011 in a match against Jeju United. In that game, he opened the scoring in the 19th minute, with the match eventually ending in a 2-2 draw. Overall, he made 12 appearances for Seongnam, scoring an impressive six goals from midfield during his initial spell. Although Seongnam finished the league season in 10th place, they qualified for the 2012 AFC Champions League by winning the 2011 Korean FA Cup. In Seongnam's 2012 AFC Champions League campaign, Héverton scored two goals, both against Nagoya Grampus, across five appearances. Seongnam progressed to the Round of 16 before being eliminated by Bunyodkor. He made seven further appearances for Seongnam across all competitions before returning to Portuguesa.
2.4. Return to Brazil and later career
Upon his return to Portuguesa, Héverton played 15 matches and scored one goal for the remainder of the year. In the 2013 season, he made 29 appearances for the club, including one in the 2013 Copa Sudamericana, and scored two goals. That year, Portuguesa secured the championship of the Campeonato Paulista Série A2. Following this success, Héverton departed Portuguesa and joined Paysandu in 2014, where he made 18 appearances and scored four goals. In 2015, Héverton signed with Brasília, participating in three matches in the 2015 Copa Verde and two in the 2015 Copa do Brasil. Subsequently, he moved to Piracicaba in 2016, playing in three games before being released by the club in April 2016, marking the end of his professional career.
