Eriko Sato's personal life includes her family, hobbies, and notable relationships that have influenced her journey.
3.1. Marriage and Family
On January 31, 2015, Eriko Sato announced her marriage to a Brazilian man and her pregnancy via her blog. Her husband is 12 years her senior and stands at 78 in (199 cm) tall. She met him in April 2012 at a dinner party organized by a model friend. Sato felt an immediate connection, noting his gentlemanly and considerate nature. Upon seeing him stoop slightly when asked about his height (which he stated as 74 in (189 cm)), she felt he understood her own complex about her height, which had sometimes caused her back pain from slouching to appear shorter than men. She was so confident in their connection that she decided she would marry him on their first meeting.
They exchanged contact information that day, and Sato actively pursued dates with him. On their fourth date, he presented her with a key case containing a spare key to his apartment and proposed to her while wearing a tuxedo. In December 2014, after two years of dating, Sato informed him of her pregnancy. Within an hour, he bought an engagement ring, and two hours later, he proposed to her with the ring, again in a tuxedo. In August 2015, she gave birth to their first child, a son.
Sato's hobbies include reading, watching movies, and practicing yoga. She also enjoys writing poetry and novels. Her older sister, Suika Sato, is also an actress. Eriko Sato maintains a friendship with Akemi Kobayashi, who was her senior in junior high school.
