Eliandro was born in São Paulo, Brazil. He began his football journey early, developing his skills within the youth academy system of Cruzeiro, one of Brazil's prominent football clubs. His formative years at Cruzeiro laid the foundation for his professional career, providing him with early exposure to competitive football environments.
2. Professional career
Eliandro's professional career is characterized by his initial breakthrough at Cruzeiro, followed by an extensive series of loan spells and transfers that took him across different continents, adapting to varied styles of play and competition levels.
2.1. Early career and numerous loan spells
Eliandro made his professional debut with Cruzeiro in the 2009 season. He gained initial opportunities in the first team largely due to injuries sustained by key players such as Kléber and Wellington Paulista. However, after receiving limited chances in the early stages of the 2010 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, he was loaned to Sport Recife for the remainder of the 2010 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B season.
Following his stint at Sport Recife, Eliandro continued to move between various Brazilian clubs on loan, seeking more consistent playing time. His subsequent loan destinations included América-MG in 2011, ABC in 2011, Villa Nova in 2012, and Ipatinga in 2012. In a notable move to Europe, he was also loaned to Portuguese club Nacional for the 2012-13 Primeira Liga season. After his time abroad, he returned to Brazil, joining Cabofriense in 2014.
2.2. International and later career
Eliandro's career continued to expand internationally. He moved to Malta to play for Birkirkara during the 2014-15 Maltese Premier League season. He then transferred to Lithuania, joining Žalgiris for the 2015 A Lyga campaign.
After his European ventures, Eliandro returned to Brazil for several spells, including Batatais in 2016, Bragantino in 2016, and Guarani from 2016 to 2017. He later played for Ferroviária in 2018 and Remo in 2018.
His career subsequently took him to Asia, where he played for several clubs in Thailand. He joined Chiangmai for the 2019 Thai League 1 season, followed by stints with Suphanburi and Chonburi during the 2020-21 Thai League 1 season, and later Samut Prakan City for the 2021-22 Thai League 1 season.
2.2.1. East Bengal
In August 2022, Eliandro was officially announced as one of the five foreign players signed by East Bengal for the upcoming 2022-23 season. His debut for the club came on August 25 against Rajasthan United in the 2022 Durand Cup. The match ended in a 0-0 stalemate, with Eliandro entering the game as a 68th-minute substitute, replacing VP Suhair.
