2. Career
Davide Gavazzi's professional football career began in his home region of Lombardy, progressing through various Italian clubs at different levels of the league system, from Serie D to Serie A, often returning to clubs for multiple stints throughout his career.
2.1. Como
Gavazzi started his career at his local Lombard team, Calcio Como. He was a member of the club's reserve team from the 2003-04 season through the 2004-05 season. The club experienced bankruptcy in 2005, leading to the formation of a new entity that was admitted to the 2005-06 Serie D. Gavazzi joined this new club and played for two and a half seasons. During this period, he contributed significantly to the team's success, winning both the 2007-08 Serie D championship and the 2007-08 Coppa Italia Serie D. He departed Como mid-season for Renate.
2.2. Renate (First Spell)
Following his departure from Como, Gavazzi joined A.C. Renate. During his initial spell with the club, Renate reached the semi-finals of the 2009 promotion playoffs, ultimately losing.
2.3. Vicenza
In July 2009, Gavazzi was signed by Serie B club Vicenza Calcio. He remained with the club for several seasons. On August 24, 2012, he was assigned the number 7 shirt, which had previously been worn by Pasquale Maiorino, who then switched to number 11.
2.4. Sampdoria
On September 7, 2012, Gavazzi made a significant move to Serie A club U.C. Sampdoria. He was signed for 1.20 M EUR on a four-year contract. As part of this agreement, Vicenza acquired Franco Semioli and Marco Padalino outright for free, while also taking Gavazzi and Zsolt Laczkó on loan from Sampdoria. However, in January 2013, Vicenza released Gavazzi from his loan spell. He went on to play seven times for Sampdoria in Serie A, all appearances occurring during the 2013-14 Serie A season.
2.5. Ternana (loan)
On January 21, 2014, Gavazzi was loaned to Serie B side Ternana Calcio. His loan spell with Ternana was subsequently renewed on August 22, 2014, allowing him to continue playing for the club for an extended period.
2.6. Avellino
On July 10, 2015, Gavazzi was signed by Avellino on a three-year contract. He contributed to the team as a midfielder during his tenure with the club.
