2.1. Early career
After developing in the Real Sociedad youth system, Dani García made his senior debut with Alicante CF B during the 2009-10 Tercera División season. Later that year, he was promoted to Alicante's first team. However, his second season, 2010-11 Segunda División B, saw the club face relegation from Segunda División B. On 24 June 2011, García transferred to Getafe CF B, a team competing in the same league.

In July 2012, Dani García signed with Real Sociedad, but was immediately loaned back to the third tier to play for SD Eibar. He quickly established himself as a vital player for Eibar, making 41 league appearances in his debut campaign and playing a key role in helping the team secure promotion through the 2013 Segunda División B play-offs.
Due to his impactful performances, García's loan to Eibar was extended in July 2013. He subsequently made his Segunda División debut on 18 August in a 2-1 away victory against Real Jaén. On 26 June 2014, following Eibar's historic promotion to La Liga for the first time ever at the end of the 2013-14 Segunda División season, García signed a permanent contract with the Armeros.
He made his debut in the Spanish top flight on 24 August 2014, starting in a 1-0 home victory against his former club, Real Sociedad. By April 2017, having missed only nine league games since the club's promotion, he became the first player to reach 100 top-division appearances for Eibar. In October of the same year, he became only the twelfth player in the club's history to play 200 matches.
