Daichi Matsuoka's career spans youth, university, and professional football, characterized by his progression through various clubs in Japan.
1.1. Youth and University Career
Matsuoka began his football development at JK Kids Namerikawa. He then joined the academy of his local club, Kataller Toyama U-15, where he played from 2011 to 2013. For his high school years, he transferred to the academy of Cerezo Osaka, playing for their U-18 team from 2014 to 2016. During his time with Cerezo Osaka U-18, in March 2016, he was registered as a Type-2 player with Cerezo Osaka's first team, alongside eight of his teammates. After graduating from high school, Matsuoka did not secure a promotion to Cerezo Osaka's top team and subsequently enrolled in Kokushikan University, where he played collegiate football from 2017 to 2020.
1.2. Cerezo Osaka
As a Type-2 player with Cerezo Osaka in 2016, Matsuoka made his professional debut for Cerezo Osaka U-23 in the J3 League. This debut occurred on June 12, 2016, in a J3 League match against Kataller Toyama. While registered with the first team, his appearances during this period were exclusively for the Cerezo Osaka U-23 team in the J3 League, and he did not feature for the main Cerezo Osaka senior team.
1.3. Kataller Toyama
On November 10, 2020, it was announced that Daichi Matsuoka would be joining Kataller Toyama for the 2021 season, marking his return to a club associated with his youth career. He officially joined the club in 2021. Matsuoka has since become a regular player for Kataller Toyama, contributing to their campaigns in the J3 League. He plays as a midfielder and wears jersey number 8 for the club. He is a left-footed player, standing 67 in (171 cm) tall and weighing 139 lb (63 kg).
