1. Early life and youth career
Christian Roberto Alves Cardoso was born on 19 December 2000 in Jundiaí, São Paulo State, Brazil. He developed his football skills within the youth setup of Athletico Paranaense, joining their academy in 2017 and remaining there until 2019. During his time in the youth ranks, he demonstrated potential as a midfielder, standing at 70 in (178 cm) tall and weighing 159 lb (72 kg). Christian is naturally right-footed.
2. Club career
Christian's professional career began at Athletico Paranaense, where he quickly rose through the ranks from the youth academy to the senior team. His career has seen him feature prominently for Athletico Paranaense, with a brief loan spell at Juventude before his eventual transfer to Cruzeiro.
2.1. Athletico Paranaense
Christian made his senior debut for Athletico Paranaense on 23 January 2019 in the Campeonato Paranaense, coming on as a substitute for Alex Nagib. He was a part of the squad that secured the Campeonato Paranaense title in 2019. His debut in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A came on 9 August 2020, when he entered the match as a substitute for Fernando Canesin Matos. Christian continued to be an integral part of the team, contributing significantly to their success, including winning the Campeonato Paranaense in 2020 and 2023, and notably the Copa Sudamericana in 2021.
2.2. Loan to Juventude
In April 2019, Christian was loaned to Juventude, where he gained further professional experience. During his temporary spell at the club, he made two appearances in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C. He returned to Athletico Paranaense in August 2019, after a few months with Juventude.
2.3. Cruzeiro
Christian later joined Cruzeiro, where he continues his professional career as a midfielder. He currently wears the number 88 jersey for the team.
