An Sae-hee's professional football journey began in South Korea, where he played for several clubs before moving to international leagues.
2.1. South Korean League Career
An Sae-hee commenced his professional career in 2015, joining Busan IPark in the K League. During the 2015 season, he was loaned to Daejeon Citizen to gain more playing opportunities. While with Daejeon, he made his professional debut. In 2016, An Sae-hee transferred to FC Anyang. On May 11, 2016, he scored his first professional goal in an FA Cup match against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, which was an equalizer. On July 27, 2017, he was loaned to Pohang Steelers.
2.2. International League Career
Beyond his time in South Korea, An Sae-hee has also played in various international leagues. On December 30, 2022, it was announced that he would sign with Penang F.C. in Malaysia. He made his debut for Penang as a starting central defender in a pre-season match against Manjung City. However, his tenure with Penang F.C. was brief, as an agreement was reached on May 10, 2023, to terminate his contract, leading to his departure from the club. In addition to Malaysia, An Sae-hee has also played in the football leagues of Vietnam and Macau.

During his time with Daejeon Citizen in the 2015 season, An Sae-hee was involved in a significant on-field incident. On October 4, 2015, in a K League match against Ulsan, An Sae-hee headbutted opposing player Lee Jae-sung in the face. The impact resulted in Lee Jae-sung suffering a facial bone fracture and an injury requiring a six-week recovery period. As a consequence of this incident, An Sae-hee was fined 5.00 M KRW and received a five-match suspension, effectively ending his season after playing only four games for Daejeon Citizen.
