Davoudi demonstrated early promise in his weightlifting career, securing gold medals at both the Youth World and Asian Youth Championships in 2016. At the 2016 Youth World Championships in Penang, Malaysia, he won the gold medal in the +94 kg weight division with a total lift of 375 kg, consisting of a 170 kg snatch and a 205 kg clean and jerk.
