He then attended Fujisawa City Muraoka Junior High School from 2005 to 2007, followed by Kirigakuen High School from 2008 to 2010. During his time at Kirigakuen High School, Fukumori gained significant attention as one of the top defenders in high school football, particularly for his performance at the 2010 National High School General Athletic Meet (Inter-High). His talent led to multiple offers from J.League clubs, ultimately resulting in his decision to join Kawasaki Frontale in October 2010.

He entered the game as a substitute in the 82nd minute, replacing fellow high school rookie Ryo Oshima, at the Tohoku Electric Power Big Swan Stadium. His first J.League goal came on November 2, 2014, in a J1 League match against Shimizu S-Pulse at Todoroki Athletics Stadium. He remained with Kawasaki Frontale until 2016, though he spent part of this period on loan.
