Marissa Neitling

1.1. Childhood and Education

Neitling completed her high school education at Lake Oswego High School, graduating in 2002. She then pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon, where she was also a part of the Honors College. During her time there, Neitling pursued a double major in Mathematics and Theater arts, demonstrating a diverse academic interest. She is also an enthusiastic fan of the Oregon Ducks sports teams. Following her undergraduate degree, Neitling further honed her acting skills by earning a MFA in acting from the prestigious Yale School of Drama.

2.1. Early Activities

In 2007, Neitling made her initial screen appearance with a brief role in the film The Go-Getter. Her television debut came in 2011, when she was cast in a guest role on the popular series Leverage, where she portrayed the characters of Christina Valada and Lacey Beaumont.

2.2. Major Works and Roles

Neitling secured a significant role in 2014, when she was cast as Lieutenant Kara Foster in the TNT summer series The Last Ship. This role became one of her most notable, spanning multiple seasons from 2014 to 2018, during which her character advanced through the ranks from Lieutenant to Lieutenant Commander and then Commander. In 2015, after submitting an audition tape, Neitling was cast as Phoebe in the disaster film San Andreas, which starred Dwayne Johnson.
