1. Early life and education
Lee Chang-geun attended Modeok Elementary School, Silla Middle School, and Dongnae High School during his formative years.
2. Club career
Lee Chang-geun's professional career as a goalkeeper has spanned various clubs within South Korea's K League system, encompassing stints in both K League 1 and K League 2. His continental appearances primarily refer to the AFC Champions League.
He began his senior career with Busan IPark, where he played from the 2012 season to the 2016 season. While with Busan, he saw limited action in K League 1 before the club was relegated to K League 2. In the middle of the 2016 season, he transferred to Suwon FC, where he remained in K League 1.
Following his time at Suwon FC, Lee joined Jeju United for the 2017 season, playing with the club through 2019. During this period, he made significant appearances, including in the AFC Champions League. Ahead of the 2020 season, he was conscripted for mandatory military service and joined Sangju Sangmu, which later became Gimcheon Sangmu. He played for the military club until the 2021 season, after which he returned to Jeju United briefly in the 2021 season.
In 2022, Lee Chang-geun moved to Daejeon Hana Citizen. During his first season with Daejeon, he made 32 appearances in K League 2, including two appearances in the K League 1 Relegation play-offs. He has continued to be a key player for Daejeon Hana Citizen in K League 1 since their promotion.

3. International career
Lee Chang-geun has represented South Korea at various youth levels, achieving notable success with the national teams. He was part of the South Korea U-20 squad that won the AFC U-19 Championship in 2012. He also played for the South Korea U-23 team, winning the King's Cup in 2015 and reaching the final of the AFC U-23 Championship in 2016, where they finished as runners-up.
