Hwang Min-kyoung began her volleyball journey at an early age, first getting involved with the sport in the fifth grade of elementary school. She attended Banpo Elementary School, then continued her education and volleyball development at Sehwa Girls' Middle School and Sehwa Girls' High School. Hwang Min-kyoung's professional career began in 2008, marked by her debut in the V-League. Since then, she has played for several major clubs and has consistently represented her country on the national stage.

2.1.1. Korea Expressway Corporation Hi-Pass (2008-2016)
Hwang Min-kyoung made her professional debut with Korea Expressway Corporation Hi-Pass after being selected as the second overall pick in the first round of the 2008-2009 V-League Women's Rookie Draft on October 20, 2008. During her eight seasons with the team, she developed into a key player. Her contributions helped the team achieve notable successes, including securing a regular season first-place finish in the 2014-15 season and a runner-up position in the championship finals the same year. They also finished second in the regular season twice (2010-11, 2011-12) and earned third place in the championship finals during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons. In the KOVO Cup, the team won the title in 2011 and was a runner-up in 2010.
2.1.2. GS Caltex Seoul KIXX (2016-2017)
In 2016, Hwang Min-kyoung transferred to GS Caltex Seoul KIXX. This move occurred as a compensation player following the transfer of Bae Yu-na to Korea Expressway Corporation. She played for one season with the Seoul-based club.
2.1.3. Suwon Hyundai Engineering & Construction Hillstate (2017-2023)
After the 2016-2017 season, Hwang Min-kyoung attained her first free agent (FA) status and subsequently transferred to Suwon Hyundai Engineering & Construction Hillstate. She remained with the team for six seasons, becoming a prominent figure and serving as the team captain for three of those years. Her tenure saw the team achieve significant results, including a first-place finish in the regular season during the 2019-20 season, which was prematurely ended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The team also secured third place in both the regular season and the championship finals in the 2017-18 season. Furthermore, Hwang Min-kyoung was instrumental in the team's success in the KOVO Cup, winning titles in both 2019 and 2021.
2.1.4. Hwaseong IBK Altos (2023-present)
Following the conclusion of the 2022-2023 season, Hwang Min-kyoung obtained her third FA status. She then signed a two-year contract with Hwaseong IBK Altos, effective from 2023. The total contract value was 900.00 M KRW, comprising an annual salary of 320.00 M KRW and an option of 130.00 M KRW, amounting to a total annual compensation of 450.00 M KRW. She is currently a key player for the team.
