In December 2015, it was confirmed that Spearritt would join the cast of the BBC medical drama Casualty as Mercedes Christie, making her debut on 23 January 2016. Their romantic relationship began in 2001 and lasted until 2006, even after Cattermole left S Club in 2002 and the group disbanded in 2003. They publicly announced their relationship after sharing a kiss in an episode of Hollywood 7.
After her relationship with Cattermole ended, Spearritt began dating Andrew-Lee Potts, her co-star from the series Primeval, in 2006. The couple became engaged in 2008, but they ended their engagement in October 2013. Prior to this, Spearritt and Potts had a brief relationship in 1997 but broke up due to Spearritt's busy schedule at the time.
On 20 December 2018, Spearritt welcomed her first daughter, Téa, with her partner Adam Thomas. In December 2020, she announced the birth of her second daughter, also with Adam Thomas.
