Gustav Isaksen

1.1. Upbringing and Early Football

Isaksen was born on 19 April 2001. He grew up in Hjerk, a town located in Salling, Denmark. He started playing football as a three-year-old. He is 70 in ^{(178 cm)} tall and weighs 150 lb ^{(68 kg)}. His initial steps in organized football were with Roslev IK, where he played until he was 11 years old.

1.2. FC Midtjylland Academy

In 2012, at the under-12 level, Isaksen moved to the FC Midtjylland academy, one of Denmark's leading youth development programs. He progressed through their youth system for seven years, honing his skills and establishing himself as a promising talent. His dedication and performance at the academy led to him signing his first professional contract with FC Midtjylland in May 2019, a five-year deal that officially marked the beginning of his senior career.

2.1. FC Midtjylland

Isaksen made his professional debut for FC Midtjylland on 25 August 2019, coming on as a substitute for Awer Mabil in the 78th minute of a 2-0 away victory over SønderjyskE in the Danish Superliga. He made his first full start for the club on 29 September 2019, in a 1-0 league loss to OB. In his debut season, the 2019-20 season, Isaksen made 15 appearances in the Danish Superliga, contributing to Midtjylland's capture of the league title.

On 25 November 2020, Isaksen made his first appearance in a European competition, substituting for Anders Dreyer in the 82nd minute during a UEFA Champions League group stage match against Ajax, which Midtjylland lost 3-1. His first professional goal came on 11 February 2021, in the Danish Cup quarter-final first leg against OB, where he started as a right winger and scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory.

Isaksen continued to develop, and on 20 February 2023, he scored his first career hat-trick in Midtjylland's spring opener against Viborg, leading his team to a dominant 4-0 victory. His exceptional performance throughout the 2022-23 Danish Superliga season saw him become the league's top scorer with 18 goals. During his time at Midtjylland, he also helped the club win the Danish Cup in the 2021-22 season.

2.2. SS Lazio

On 8 August 2023, Gustav Isaksen completed a transfer to Italian Serie A club Lazio, signing a five-year contract. He made his debut for the club and scored his first goal on 30 December 2023, netting the second goal in Lazio's 3-1 victory over Frosinone. In the same match, he also provided an assist, marking a strong contribution in his early appearances for the Italian side.

3.1. Denmark Youth Teams

Isaksen has been a consistent presence in Denmark's national youth teams. He played for the Denmark national under-16 football team from 2016 to 2017, making 4 appearances and scoring 1 goal. From 2017 to 2018, he played for the Denmark national under-17 football team, appearing in 15 matches and scoring 6 goals. He also featured for the Denmark national under-18 football team (5 appearances, 1 goal from 2018 to 2019) and the Denmark national under-19 football team (6 appearances, 1 goal from 2019 to 2020).

On 4 September 2020, he made his debut for the Denmark under-21 side, coming on as a substitute for Rasmus Carstensen in the 81st minute of a 1-1 draw against Ukraine. He continued to play for the U-21 team until 2022, accumulating 19 appearances and scoring 7 goals. Isaksen was also part of Denmark's under-21 squad for the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

3.2. Denmark Senior Team

Gustav Isaksen earned his first international cap for the Denmark senior national team on 27 March 2024. He came on as a substitute for Anders Dreyer during Denmark's 2-0 victory over the Faroe Islands. He scored his first international goal on 15 October 2024, contributing to a 2-2 draw against Switzerland in the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League A. His second international goal came on 15 November 2024, in a 1-2 loss to Spain, also in the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League A.
