Christiane Paul was born on March 8, 1974, in Berlin, Germany. Her parents were both medical professionals; her father was a surgeon, and her mother was an anesthesiologist. Growing up in such a household, Paul was exposed to the world of medicine from an early age, which would later shape her academic pursuits.

Despite her qualifications, she ultimately chose a different career path.
