In June 2012, Bae Dae-Won joined Japanese club Tokyo Verdy after having participated in training sessions with the team. He played for Tokyo Verdy in the J2 League until August 2013. On August 15, 2013, he was transferred to FC Machida Zelvia on a loan deal. The move was made permanent in 2014, and he continued to play for FC Machida Zelvia until the end of the 2015 season.

While playing for Tokyo Verdy, Bae Dae-Won was involved in a notable incident that led to a club-imposed suspension. On February 19, 2013, during a training match held in Haruno Town, Kōchi Prefecture, against Kamatamare Sanuki, a contact play resulted in a severe injury to Kamatamare Sanuki's player Kohei Fujita, who suffered an open dislocation fracture to his right leg. Following this incident, Tokyo Verdy promptly issued an official apology on its club website. Although the J.League Disciplinary Committee did not impose an official penalty, Tokyo Verdy took internal disciplinary action, suspending Bae Dae-Won from participating in external matches until the end of March 2013.
2.3. Return to South Korea
After concluding his tenure with FC Machida Zelvia at the end of the 2015 season, Bae Dae-Won returned to South Korea. In 2016, he rejoined Gimhae City FC, which was then competing in the K3 League. He has continued to play for Gimhae City FC since his return.
