2. Club Career
Ahn Il-joo's professional club career began in 2011, making his debut in the K League system. He played for several teams, experiencing different divisions of South Korean football, including the top-tier K League Classic (now K League 1) and the second-tier K League Challenge (now K League 2), as well as the semi-professional National League.
2.1. Pohang Steelers and Sangju Sangmu
Ahn Il-joo commenced his professional career after being selected by Pohang Steelers in the 2011 K League Draft. However, he found limited opportunities to play during his debut season with the club. In 2012, he joined Sangju Sangmu to fulfill his mandatory military service. Although he was part of the squad, he did not feature prominently for Sangju Sangmu during his tenure there. After completing his military service, Ahn Il-joo returned to his original club, Pohang Steelers, in 2013. He departed the team after the conclusion of the 2013 K League Classic season. During his time with Sangju Sangmu, he contributed to the club's success in the 2013 season.
2.2. Bucheon FC 1995
In July 2014, Ahn Il-joo moved to Bucheon FC 1995, joining the club on a free transfer. His time with Bucheon FC 1995 marked a new phase in his career within the K League Challenge.
2.3. Gyeongju KHNP
Following his stint at Bucheon FC 1995, Ahn Il-joo transferred to Gyeongju KHNP in January 2016. At Gyeongju KHNP, he competed in the National League, which was a semi-professional league below the K League structure at the time.
2.4. Daejeon Hana Citizen
In 2017, Ahn Il-joo made a move to Daejeon Hana Citizen (then known as Daejeon Citizen). He has since continued his career with the club, playing as a defender in the K League 2.
